Serbian government takes over two more airports

January 10, 2020

Serbian Traffic Minister Zorana Mihajlovic signed documents transferring the ownership of two local airports to the government on Friday.

Mihajlovic signed contracts with the local authorities in the cities of Krusevac and Uzice to transfer the Rosulje and Ponikve airports to the government. She recalled that the same had already been done with the Konstantin Veliki airport in Nis and the Morava airport in Kraljevo and that the same is expected to happen to the airport in Bor.

The minister said that this was being done because “it’s much simpler and better to find the financing and other requirements for small airports under one company”. “This allows us to provide developed small airports for local communities,” she said.
