Belgrade and London discuss military cooperation

February 27, 2020

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic told Admiral Timothy Fraser, Vice-Chief of the UK Defence Staff, whom he met in Belgrade to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation in defence and security, that "Serbia will always supported peaceful and stable Balkans," the Beta news agency reported on Thursday.

Vucic's cabinet said in a statement that during the Admiral's visit, a plan on bilateral military cooperation covering 33 joint activities would be signed.

Fraser said the British military was ready to offer help in educating and training the members of the Army of Serbia, including joint exercises of the two military forces.

Vucic and Fraser agreed that the strategic goals of the cooperation in defence in the next period would focus on strengthening the military educational and medical areas.

Serbia's President said he hoped that the relations between Serbia and Britain would reach the level of real friendship and that the exchange of high-ranking officials' visits would contribute to two countries' stronger and richer relationship in all aspects.
