Serbian PM: Can’t say how much the vaccines cost

February 22, 2021

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Monday that she can’t say how much the authorities spent on coronavirus vaccine.

“The price is not discussed by any country, not even the European Union which negotiates collectively,” she told the pro-authorities TV Happy, adding that “the ways the vaccines are procured are unbelievable”. According to Brnabic President Aleksandar Vucic’s personal contacts are crucial to the procurement of coronavirus vaccine for Serbia.

Brnabic said that the authorities have signed a contract for 12,332,200 doses of vaccine, adding that 1,970,220 doses have already arrived. The goal of the state is to secure two doses of vaccine for every citizen of Serbia, she said.

Brnabic claimed that Serbia was the only country to receive the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine “without taking part in the third stage of clinical studies”.
