New financial assistance to people and the economy in Serbia starts on May 6 with the first 30 Euro to pensioners, President Aleksandar Vucic has said on Monday.
On May 7, the same sum will go to social aid beneficiaries and prisoners.
„As of May 10, 50 percent of minimum wage will be paid to micro, small, medium-sized and large enterprises, while from May 12, all citizens who have applied will get 30 Euro,“ Vucic published on his Instagram account.
He added that as of May 20, Serbs in Kosovo who applied for aid would get 100 Euro, while the unemployed would get 200 Euro.
„Immediately after, we go with the second installment of 600 Euro for trucking companies,“ Vucic promised.
He reiterated the call on people to get vaccinated.
Last year, pensioners and all citizens who applied received 100 Euro in state aid.
Independent economists criticized the so-called helicopter money, saying it should have been selected since not all people were in equal need of aid.
It came ahead of June 2020 elections.
New presidential and Belgarde elections are due next April or May, as Vucic has said, including an early parliamentary vote.
