The World Health Organization’s representative in Serbia told N1 on Monday that the daily toll of 50 coronavirus-related deaths is a high price to pay and appealed for vaccination.
“We know that at least 50 people die every day and I think that is a high price for Serbia to pay in the pandemic. I agree that vaccination is the only path we should follow which brings us hope of taking control of the pandemic,” Dr Marjan Ivanusa said.
According to Ivanusa, Serbians failed to get vaccinated over the summer. “I don’t know why believe don’t believe this but I hope that they believe now that they see how many people are sick,” he said.
Ivanusa said that additional measures could lower the intensity of the pandemic.
