All responsible for causing troubles will be sanctioned, and we must teach our children how to live together, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic has said in the southwestern town of Priboj on Wednesday a place of a recent nationalist incident during a celebration of a newborn, adding the town "tested us as humans."
He promised that the state would have no mercy towards those who violated peace.
Vucic went to Priboj which has a sustainable Bosniak minority after tensions had risen following a video showing off-duty police officers celebrating the birth of a child of one of them by singing a song glorifying Srebrenica genocide and other war crimes.
"Priboj is a test whether we are humans or not, and it must not happen that children sing to someone shooting at mosques," Vucic said, adding that "as we resect our churches, icons and monasteries, we must respect our Muslim neighbours."
"I'm a Serb, Serbia's President and of course that I love all Serbs, but I cannot imagine Priboj without Bosniaks, and it won't be without them because they have the same rights as the Serbs," Vucic said.
He added that "the Bosniaks will say those are empty words, a fairytale, but it's not. It's a real life…"
Vucic said that "this country is equally Bosniaks' and Serbs', as it is mine and as it belongs to all of you here."
"If someone thinks they can and should destroy (anything), they will have to deal with the state, and the state will have no mercy in preserving peace and stability," he warned.
Touring the plant of the Turkish Flex Academy company in Priboj, which produced flexible stainless steel hoses, Vucic promised the investor would open another plant in the town.
Flex Academy in the Priboj Free Zone has been operating since 2017, where it leased 20,000 square meters, employed about 300 workers and exported to EU countries, Russia and America.
It is estimated that they will have around 22 million euros in revenues in 2022.
In a meeting with the company's representatives, Vucic said that a new plant would employ 150 people.
He added that Priboj would get a gas pipeline this year, making production cheaper in the Free Zone.
