Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices in Serbia were the highest in the region in 2021, Belgrade-based Beta news agency said on Wednesday citing Eurostat.
It said that the prices of consumer goods and services in Serbia are at the level of 60 percent of the average in the European Union.
According to the report, food and beverages are 15 percent cheaper than the European average but are more expensive than in the other non-EU countries of the Western Balkans.
Serbia also has the highest prices of electronic devices in both the region and the EU, with only Iceland and Norway having higher prices. Alcohol and tobacco prices are at 68.5 percent of the EU average and clothing and footwear prices are at 93 percent of the EU average.
