European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said following his meeting with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti in Pristina that they discussed how to proceed with the dialogue.
Following his hours-long meeting with Kurti and French and German envoys Emmanuel Bonne and Jens Ploetner, Lajcak said they discussed ways in which to proceed with the dialogue.
It was an important discussion and I believe you understand that we cannot disclose the details because we will have the same talks today with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Lajcak told the media.
European Commission spokesman Peter Stano said earlier that the purpose of the visit is to explore the options for progress in the dialogue and that, following the meeting with Kurti, Lajcak, Bonne and Ploetner will also meet with President Vucic.
French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz sent a joint letter to Vucic informing him that they have tasked their advisers for foreign and security policy, Jens Ploetner and Emanuel Bonne, to support the dialogue on the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
The Serbian President’s office said Lajcak, Bonne and Ploetner are due to meet Vucic at 6 pm Friday.
