Dacic-CSM a prerequisite for talks on solution between Belgrade, Pristina

January 23, 2023

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said that the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) is the essence of the Brussels Agreement, that it is not envisaged as a non-governmental organization and that Serbia will insist on its formation, as a prerequisite for talks on a political plan or proposal for a solution between Belgrade and Pristina.

“What is noticeable is that, regardless of whether there are any differences between countries or international organizations regarding the dialogue, they now acted in unison, as a single group of five, and spoke with the President of Serbia,“ Dacic told Happy TV.

What would happen if Serbia did not agree to the offered plan for normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo is what will be discussed on Monday, said Dacic, adding that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is supported by the state leadership, the Serbian Government and by the entire governing coalition.

The Minister said that, in situations like this, political and state unity is of utmost importance for vital state and national interests, and that some opposition parties would back everything that is requested.

“Then there is also the other part of the opposition that plays a negative role in its own way, encourages the drums of war when it is not the time for it. The most important thing is to continue the dialogue wisely and decisively, with the clear goal that we want to be a part of the modern world, we want into the European Union and we want economic growth,” said Dacic.
