Serbian Military Union lends support to striking postal workers

November 14, 2023

The Serbian Military Union lent strong support to the Serbian Post Office employees who are on strike, stressing that they are not alone in their honorable struggle for dignified work that people deserve in the 21st century.

You have taught us all a long-forgotten lesson about the power of the workers’ collective. You are employees not slaves, and it is solely up to you whether and under what conditions you will agree to work. Don’t even think of giving up, the Serbian Military Union said in an open letter to postal workers.

The Union noted that it was in an almost identical situation when Serbian Post Office acting director Zoran Dordjevic was the Minister of Defense and members of the Serbian Armed Forces demanded better financial and social status. We were deceived then because we believed what turned out to be false promises, the consequences of which we feel to this day, said the Serbian Military Union.
