Central bank says inflation on downward trajectory

November 15, 2023

Inflation is on a downward path, it dropped to 8.5 percent in October, and is expected to fall below seven percent in the first months of next year, said the participants of the presentation of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Inflation Report.

General Director of the NBS Economic Research and Statistic Sector Savo Jakovljevic said the average inflation this year will be 12.5 percent, and that it will stand at 4.6 percent in 2024.

He said inflation is expected to be slightly over three percent by the end of next year, adding that food prices are still going up, but at a slower pace, and that single-digit growth in prices is expected in November.
