Warning strike at Clinical Center in Belgrade

Staff at the Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade staged a one-hour warning strike on Wednesday with demands for better working conditions.
The warning strike was organized by one of the unions. Their demands include revoking the health care system pay grades, employing new staff to fill vacant positions and dismiss abusive managers. They also want higher pay.
Union officials said the staff at the Clinical Center can’t cope with the patient numbers, adding that staff are retiring or getting jobs in private medical facilities.
They said a wider protest would be staged if their demands are not met.
