Serbian budget deficit lower than planned

Serbia’s national budget deficit stood at 179.3 billion Dinars in 2023 or 2.2 percent of the GDP, the Finance Ministry said on Tuesday, adding that it was lower than planned.

The Finance Ministry said on its web portal that the original plan was for a deficit of 264 billion Dinars (1 Euro – 117 Dinars).

It said budget revenue stood at 1,889 billion Dinars while expenditure totaled 2,068 billion.

At state sector level, the fiscal deficit in 2023 was 181.1 billion Dinars or 0.6 percent of the GDP better than planned.

The primary fiscal deficit totaled 41.3 billion Dinars or 0.5 percent of the GDP.
