Pristina issues arrest warrant for Kosovo Serb official; Belgarde: new pressure

August 23, 2019

A court in Pristina has issued a local arrest warrant for Serb List official Milan Radoicic, Pristina daily Koha said on its web portal on Friday.

The report said that Radoicic is suspected of involvement in and the organization of a criminal group. His name was mentioned in the investigation into the murder of Kosovo Serb opposition leader Oliver Ivanovic in northern Kosovska Mitrovica.

The warrant was issued in July at the request of the Kosovo Special Prosecutor on suspicion of his involvement in the Ivanovic murder.

Koha said that Radoicic is known “to the people in northern Kosovo as synonymous with the underworld, threats, violence and drug trafficking”.

Kosovo’s Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri said later on Friday that Pristina would soon issue an international warrant for Radoicic. The warrant must go through UNMIK since Kosovo is not an Interpol member.

Marko Djuric, the head of Serbia’s Government Office for Kosovo said the warrant was “the last in a series of pressures on the Serbs” and “an attempt to politically discredit the Serb List.”
