Albin Kurti, the head of the Kosovo Self-determination party said on Tuesday that if his organisation won the October 6 early general elections, the 100 percent import taxes on goods from Serbia and Bosnia would remain in place, the FoNet news agency reported.
Addressing the gathering “Albanian Spring Starts from Kosovo” in Tirana, Kurti said he didn’t know what an international pressure meant, referring to the US and European Union demands to Pristina to abolish the tariffs and thus open room for the resumption of the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on the normalisation of relations.
“People from the international community never exercised any pressure on me. Honestly, I’m a bit curious to know how that pressure feels,” he said, as quoted by Lajmi net, adding that other Kosovo politicians constantly complained about the pressure from outside.
“I believe that resistance comes before pressure,” he added, saying he had meetings with foreigners but without pressure.
