Predrag Kon, Serbia’s chief epidemiologist and a member of the state anti-COVID-19 Crisis Team, said on Friday the situation with the coronavirus epidemic worsened and that no sign of improvement was seen, the FoNet news agency reported.
Speaking to the pro-regime Pink TV, Kon said the information about 57 percent of infected did not know where they contracted the virus meant it circulated.
A particular danger was in public transport and other indoor spaces, Kon added.
He said that the situation had worsened dangerously and that “we should be smart.” “We can think about the closing down night clubs and reduce the working hours of cafes and restaurants.”
Kon added the Crisis Team considered those measures and said it would be better to prescribe them before the situation became even worse.
President Aleksandar Vucic said in Brussels that some stricter measures might be re-introduced in the next several days if “we are not more careful.”
