Serbia’s European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic said on Friday that Serbia is ready to open five chapters in the pre-accession negotiations with the European Union.
She told an online meeting of the 77-member government Coordination Council for Accession to the European Union that Serbia will present the progress it made in implementing action plans for chapters 23 and 24 in the pre-accession negotiations and added that Serbia could open new chapters by the end of the year. The minister said that five chapters are ready to be opened and three more are being prepared.
State institutions have to draw up plans to implement reforms efficiently and speed up the process, Joksimovic said and added that the government is tackling the reform agenda and European integration seriously. According to her, Serbia is viewed as the most serious candidate for EU membership and ne of the leaders of the process in the region.
She said that added effort is being invested in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue as a very sensitive political process.
